Site Overhaul

The site is undergoing a final overhaul, so content is on hold. I have a few articles ready to go, but I am waiting for my new design and structure to be complete.

The site has undergone a few changes quickly, but the current design could be more modern and device-friendly across different screen sizes. My main goal is to design something long-lasting, something I can keep in place, and focus on content. So, I have been working on a new modern design that will vastly improve the current design. Here are a few preview images of things to come. Thank you.

Goonies Article

Just posted a new article for the site on The Goonies: Goonies Are Good Enough

The Goonies is an iconic movie from the 1980s that has reached legendary status. It was produced by Steven Spielberg and directed and co-produced by the late Richard Donner. The classic has been watched and loved by generations. Whenever I read a discussion of a sequel or a remake, I pause and wonder why they would do that. I know those out there, including cast members, would love to revisit The Goonies with a sequel. The Goonies is such a great movie that it should remain a one-off and be left as is. Unless the movie is done exceptionally well with a great script, it will never equal or surpass the original. Nostalgia is such a great thing, and watching this movie takes you back to a time when you were an adventurous kid if you are in my age range. I was nine years old when this movie was released. Even now, driving down the coast, this movie crosses my mind. Also, living in Astoria, The Goonies is a constant reminder of my childhood. Kindergarten Cop and Short Circuit are two other 80s classics filmed in Astoria, Oregon.

Presidential Debate

This presidential season's first debate will be on Thursday, June 27th, 2024. I am not one to talk about politics, and you will rarely see politics on this site. I only bring it up because of the value of entertainment. I think this will be a complete shit show of a train wreck. I doubt I will watch the whole thing, but I will probably catch some highlight clips. Depending on where it goes, it will devolve into something worthy of a laugh or a cringe. I don't care about political views; everyone has the right to vote for their candidate of choice. I am not posting this as a political view one way or another; it is just for pure entertainment only. Thank you.

Site Updates

I apologize for the lack of content lately. I have been updating and cleaning up my site code behind the scenes. I have been optimizing SEO for better search results with better-friendly URLs, page titles, meta tags, and accessibility for all users. I have also worked on responsive coding to ensure our mobile visitors have the same experience along with faster load times. I have run the site through a few site audits and SEO optimizing tools, and the site is in a good place code-wise. I will now focus on the content again. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Celtics Win NBA Finals

The Boston Celtics won the 2024 NBA Championship tonight, marking their NBA record 18th franchise title. With the final score of 106 to 88, they sent the Mavs home with a 4-1 series win. Jaylen Brown won the NBA Finals MVP award after averaging 20.8 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game. I was shocked Jayson Tatum didn't win the MVP award, especially after such a dominant final game with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists to go with 2 steals. The team is young and well-rounded, so I would not be surprised to see them back in the Finals again next year. Congrats to the Celtics!
